jesseeinstein, I believe BoCo said letters would be getting to us around the last week of March, possibly as last at frist week of April.

Congrats, Susan! That's wonderful! My d did Secret Garden with a graduate from Syracuse (she-the graduate-played Martha). She is an AWESOME singer and actress! We also just saw her as the Witch in Into the Woods - again, amazing. I'm so happy for you! :)

Collegebound87-
Congrats on UCLA, (TaraMom too)! I hope more good news is on the way!!!!!

Hey all!!
Just got a call from Elon University yesterday-- I am accepted as a musical theatre major!! YAY! Still waiting to hear from everyone else... but I'm glad to have Point Park and Elon under my belt!!
Best wishes to everyone!
Mychal

Allthatjazz-Congratulations! Elon is just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

crosses fingers for news today

Congrats Allthatjazz! Elon IS a beautiful campus and their program seems to be topnotch!

A friend of mine referred my son and I to this board. It is great! So far, my son has been accepted to CCM and FSU
BFA musical theatre programs. Still waiting to hear from several others. Broadway 32nd, where do you think you will end up? Sounds like lots of options for you.

Congrats on your acceptances. I was interested in Wagner. My daughter was accepted for Theatrical Design. She really liked the smallness of it, and the kids. Do you know how it is ranked? Is it one of your top picks?

She was also accepted to Rutgers Mason Gross, Drew, Rowan, Ramapo, SUNY Albany. Waiting to hear from Ithaca, Muhlenberg, and SUNY Purchase and Emerson.

MBE

There seems to be a lot of positive feedback on Wagner on this site. I am not familiar with it. It sounds as if your daughter has lots of choices. Must be very talented. A couple of my son's friends got accpted into Ithaca's MT program. I understand it is a great program. Keep us updated and best of luck.

Where, I can't find anything.

I've bounced around these boards quite a bit, since I am new, I haven't learned to navigate too well. Maybe it seemed to me a lot of people applied to Webster or were accepted. Seems like it has come up quite a bit.

MICHIGAN DIRECTING BFA

I'm not an MT, but since there are no directing boards, and everyone here knows so much about the drama programs, thought I would just post! I've been accepted into UMichigan's BFA Directing program. I was wondering if anyone had any good info on the program - number of directors they accept, what the classes are like, etc.

Thanks!

I have found that using CC's SEARCH function near the top of each page has helped when I am looking for info.

Click on Search. The Search Forums box pops up. Type in a keyword(s) and it will bring up lots of threads where your keyword(s) are mentioned. You still have to search through the threads but your keyword(s) will show up in red so it makes spotting it easier.

Congrats to your Michigan acceptance! Have you applied to any other directing programs?

You may want to start a new thread about directing programs on the main Musical Theater Major page and also the Arts Major page.

wct - Thanks! Yes...I've applied to CMU & NYU Directing, as well as BU, USC, and SMU Meadows Theatre Studies (I've also gotten into USC and Meadows). Waiting very anxiously for the CMU letter to arrive, though...! ;-)

Allthatjazz- Congrat's on Elon and Point Park! They are both definitely on our list for next year. We know people who are very happy at Point Park, and we had a great visit there. We had an amazing visit to Elon in the fall, saw their incredible fall musical, and were very impressed with everything about their MT program and the campus in general. Much luck in your decision making process. Not to say we haven't loved other places also, but Elon was very special. I can't believe we don't read more about it on this forum.

I know some peope have been worried because they did not get a call from Syracuse, so I just wanted to write and let you know this does not mean anything. I called today out of curiousity and they told me that they are doing acceptences in rounds, so they only notified some people last week. They said the rounds will be done within 2-3 weeks, so we'll all now by then.

That makes no sense! Why torture us like that! Bleh. Too much frusteration! Not a fan of the waiting... still wanting CMU most though!

I agree, it makes absolutely no sense because they told me that they had made all their decisions, but they just weren't going to notify everyone at once. I actaully don't have much interest in Syracuse at this point, I was just worried that something had happened with my app because I hadn't heard, so I called. Oh these silly silly colleges and their strange ways.
