While the number of application increased 4.3%, Harvard also decreased the number of acceptances to 918 from 977 the year earlier, lowering the admit rate to just 14.8%.
It’s also interesting to note that Asians represented 24.2% of the acceptances which has been increasingly steadily over the past few years.
There will be about 60 more spots available for the RD round which is a plus. Still, last year’s 2.8% regular decision rate was dauntingly low, so even if the the RD rate rises this year, it will still be quite a challenge to be accepted.
