College Accessories list

Ok, I am a high school senior( guy ), going very far away from home, I currently live in San Diego, CA and am going to Nashville, TN (Vanderbilt) for college. I am wondering what are some good ideas that people have for things to get for my dorm or just things in general to buy/bring to college that are useful. Examples I can think of are mini fridge, bike, TV( not sure about this one), i-touch, etc. Things along these lines, also no open flames aloud in the dorms, thanks for the help.

Take a look at this thread from last year: <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/53990-last-year-s-shopping-checklists-bedding-threads.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/53990-last-year-s-shopping-checklists-bedding-threads.html</a></p>

More help guys, I went to all those links, thats like bedding and such, and is hard to navigate, thanks anway though!

search function exists for a reason.

Hooks that hang off doors and beds, sticky back velcro to hang things on walls, cover up backs of dressers and hang curtains, command hooks, any space saving organizers! D1 has a loft and has a shelf that hooks to loft(IKEA) and a little container (Walmart) stuck to the wall that holds ipod and cell so she doesn't have to get up and down at night. Loves her Cocoa Motion machine for hot choc and instant cappuccinos! Her closet is dark so she has one of those push lights there and one stuck on the wall by her loft so she can read at night without the overhead light on.

Other than the obvious stuff, like laptop and bedding, I find my suit to have been quite useful...bring it if you have one. And dress shoes+at least 1 dress shirt / tie. What else...floor lamp, most dorm lights suck. Mini vacuum, the dust gathers up damn quickly, I thank God for this marvelous device. Fireproof safety box with key, don't assume anything/trust anyone from the beginning. I keep all important documents in it.

A fan. Fans that fit in the window are often great for ventilating rooms; normal rotating fans work as well.
