I've been looking around the entire CC forums, and I remember reading some good college admissions book names, including "A is for Admission," "Harvard Schmarvard," and such.

Can I get an author name for these, and some other titles?

hernandez i think her first name is michelle wrote a good book or 2 and there;s another book "How to get into the Ivy League and other Selective Colleges" go google or amazon it to get the author

Loren Pope wrote a book called Colleges that Change Lives . A good choice for smaller LACs.

The Fiske Guide is a very good one, too. Carolyn, who posts here a lot, also recommends Admission Matters by Springer. You might give those a try!

Harvard Schmarvard is by Jay Mathews, an entertaining read.

For a behind the scenes look at the admission process at Wesleyan, read "The Gatekeepers" by Jacques Steinberg. It's not a "how to" book, but definitely interesting.
