Hi, I’m applying for UVA, UMD, VT, Michigan, VCU, UMC, and Georgia Tech next year as an in-state student from Northern Virginia. Below is information about me that influence my admission. Feedback and advice on what I should do to improve my chances at admission would be much appreciated!

*3.93/4.00 Unweighted GPA (After Junior Year)

Can you elaborate on the AP courses that you have taken ?

What will your major be? Also, how many APs does your school offer? Have you taken all of them…or just 5 of many?

Have you discussed budget with your family? Also, what’s UMC - University ov Maryland something (not college park which is UMD above,?

AP Chemistry, AP World History, Ap Micro/Macro Economics, and AP Language and Composition

Sorry. My note reply to @Publisher was meant for the OP.

I’m planning on majoring in Computer Science but am also interested in joining the medical field. My school offers many APs and will also take AP/DE Biology, AP Statistics, AP Human Geography, AP BC Calculus, and AP Literature (So 5 of many). My parents are willing to help pay the tuition. I apologize for the error, I meant to type UNC.

Ok. Don’t forget we are all amateurs here. And in the end you need reaches, targets and safeties. Also you need to find out your budget. Saying your parents will help means little. Is that 10k or 50k a year.

Do me a favor. Run the net price calculator….well have your parents do it for a meets need school like Rice or Yale. WHat does it say ?

I’ll assume you are full pay. Then the next question is what are your parents willing to pay ? Then you can build a list that fits your budget and offers scholarship.

My amateur opinion is no to G TECH, UNC, UVA, and Michigan. UMD is a high target meaning 50/50 as is Va Tech. If you weren’t CS I think you’d get in both. But that’s no reason to change major.

In at VCU. Answer the money question and we can (me and others who respond) give you other ideas.

Any preference on size sounds like u like large), city or not, weather etc ?

Why not also add George Mason to your list? I believe their Stem programs are respectable. Students often overlook rthe college in their backyard , but end up going there anyway for various reasons.
