College Admission & Is it possible for professors to waive a "w" or withdrawal from class?

The class I’m wanting to withdrawal is Physical Geography online. I’m really not doing too well on it, and I missed the dropping date without a “W” on the transcripts a few days ago. I thought I could pull through, but science was always my worst subject and I’m not fully grasping any of the concepts, and due to other priorities, it’s been difficult to manage. I took over 12 units last semester, being listed on the dean’s list, and due to difficult current events, I reverted to online classes this semester, but if I would to drop this class I would be under a full time student. I’m planning on going into FIDM Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising next semester and then going to a University after I get my associates there, so would it matter to drop a general ed class like that?

Also, if I were to talk to the professor about what’s been going on, would they have the power to remove the “w” on my transcripts?

I’m business administration and a first year student in a community college right now, so it’s practically not a part of my major it’s just general ed for the community college I’m at right now if that helps make any difference in the outcome.

I don’t know where you’re applying, but my son withdrew from two CC courses last fall and was still admitted into a four-year university for the current semester.
