Has anyone used this before?
It is very interesting.

Not really. The problem is, applicants don't really know why they were accepted - we can all speculate, but only the people who made the decision to accept us can know why that happened.
Also - big deal. He was accepted to some great schools. Where was he denied? What exactly were his stats? EC's? Family? Are these schools getting a lot of applicants from his state, or his socio-economic background?

The bottom line is, only the Admissions Officers at each school can tell you why an applicant was or was not admitted each year. What works at Harvard may not work for Yale, and what works at Yale may not be helpful at Princeton....etc. There isn't 'one' thing that can get students accepted to college, because there isn't 'one' way that every college evaluates applicants.

so this dude got into Harvard, Penn, MIT and Georgetown and decides to go to Illinois...

something is fishy right there.

Does anybody find this kid somewhat arrogant? lol

I call bull. Probably some money making scheme by a prick who got a hold of a few admissions letters and scanned them. "Admissions secrets", yeah right.

no such c**p like "secrets" for applications. dont invest valuable money on "Secrets" JUST BE YOURSELF.

^ I definatly agree!!

he went to USC full scholarship btw. So nothing fishy there. But these "secrets" r really not secrets. B/c if u patiently think about urself u don't need anything else. Just urself.

The dean at Harvard has the worst handwriting ever. Just on a lighter note.

exactly. not being a insane anti-air'n m. here, but i totally disagree with "buying secrets"

what a hypocrite... he bashes paying for college advising while, at the same time, urges you to pay for his "special" tapes...

He's hilarious.

From the viewpoint of a guy who's used his secrets,

First off, I wanna start by saying that I purchased this program, but I purchased it A LONG TIME ago. The entire thing was a giant teleconference...at the end, there's a question answer session, and I ask a question, and you can hear my question in the recording ;)

I will say that his advertisement is a bit misleading...he forgets to ask explain a couple of his strategies, but he's basically a guy who's finished the college admissions process and wants to reveal how he's done it. The reason, he explains in his recordings, why he didn't go to Harvard or Penn or Georgetown is because of location and atmosphere. He truly didn't feel that he belonged at Harvard, and I can see his view on that issue.

He doesn't advocate not being yourself; he simply expresses how you can better be yourself.

As far as "buying secrets" is concerned, I personally wouldn't have labeled it "Admissions Secrets." It's more or less strategies instead. In addition, Air'n has a great moneyback guarantee on all of his products. If you don't like it, he'll refund it. I think of it like this: use the program, and if you learn something from it, promote the author by not asking for your money back.

All of the reviews at the bottom of his website are also legit. One of my quotes is one of his reviews.

If anyone has used his ACT/SAT/Scholarship Secrets stuff, this is of similar if not higher/better caliber.

I'm getting a certain air here that everyone wants to keep his $50 by saying that it probably doenst help much, but I don't think any of you guys have used it!

If this means anything, I have almost 500 posts on CC, and I still used some of the things he said in there...

Now then, for specifics:
it's been a while since I've listened to this thing...I listened to it at the beginning of the college app process and took notes on it; in order to respect his property, I won't disclose specific information

How to avoid wasting thousands of dollars on a private counselor or admissions consultant...
^^I don't recall him specifically talking about this one...rather, I think that he's hinting that by using this program, you'll save thousands of dollars...but I guess that was understood if you buy the program

How to virtually guarantee your acceptance at the college of your dreams...
^^If it's too good to be true, it probably is; there's no way anyone can guarantee anyone's acceptance unless they're making the decisions

How to get more money for college... (Winning scholarships and negotiating financial aid are largely based on how much the college WANTS YOU TO ATTEND which is determined by your application...)
^^don't remember that part, but w/e

How to quickly impress committee judges...
^^Air'n was a judge on a scholarship committe for a while, so he's not speaking complete BS here; in addition, the entire teleseminar is about this...

How to overcome the competition and stay out of the reject pile...
^^Can anyone really "ovecome" the competition?

How to end the confusion and guesswork about how to create a winning application...
^^Once again, the entire thing is sort of based upon this idea...

How to maximize your strengths on your application and literally REVERSE your weaknesses (instead of just trying to hide them)...
^^I will admit that this one really was key...he did explain this one pretty well and how to take care of weaknesses; I would pay the $50 just for that piece of advice he gave

I've always thought that his advertisements are a bit misleading, but everything he says is still important.

It's also important to remember that he's human...

"Early Decision versus Early Action versus Regular Decision... Ill show you my findings on how they affect your chances at getting in... (This WILL surprise you!)"
^^He didn't remember to explain this until someone asked him a question about it

Anyway, if you guys want some more information, feel free to post here, and I'll try to get back ASAP!

Also, it's not very helpful if you've already sent everything in...seniors

That is total Bull****

^^good job articulating your opinion and backing it up...

Hey Anonymous99, wanna share some tips? hehe

Seriously though, how long is the thing?

I respect Air'n and his hard work too much to share his tips...sorry! But, you can always purchase it and ask for a refund if you don't like it. From what I've heard, he's really good about keeping his word on his moneyback gurantee, but I don't have any firsthand experience because I like his stuff and end up keeping it!

It's about 3 hours long...it's in three parts too; it's great for burning to a CD and then going out on a long drive or something

When I purchased it, I spent $50 on it, but it looks like it's only $30 now. The first half hour of his program is basically expressing how he's qualified to do this seminar and that it's all legit. But then, he really gets into it.

i've used it but i think his strategies r pretentious. He did give me some insight into the type of thinking i should be doing but his strategies when used naturally seem good. However, they have a lot of possibilities of going artificial and really ineffective.

Plus, it's only $30! Would you spend that much to increase your chances at your colleges?

So bottom line anonymous99: Would you recommend it?
