college admission

Hi, Can someone tell me if i have a good chance to go to Purdue University for Mechanical Engineering. Here are my current stats.

3.2 unweighted GPA, 3.8 weighted
1900 on the SAT
In top 18%

ECs

Volunteered at a local hospital for 3 years, and at church
Played Basketball for 2 years,
Held same job for 3 years

If I do not have a chance at Purdue, what other colleges that are highly ranked for engineering I have a good chance at attending. Thanks.

Can someone please tell me

Your SAT is borderline, your GPA is a little low, and your EC’s are a little thin. Try taking the ACT in the fall to raise that score a little and re-taking the SAT. Try to get all A’s your fall semester to raise your GPA and show an upward trend. How did you do on your Math section of the SAT and hopefully you are planning to take the Math and Physics SAT II. Purdue is one of your best bets for a highly ranked E program that is somewhat less selective than other top E schools. You may have to go to a second or third tier E school with your current stats. My definition of a third tier E school still puts that school in the top 50. Much depends on what state you live in.

Some other good E schools to consider that might be better matches:

Arizona State- this would be my TOP recommendation with your stats
U of Colorado
Iowa State
Michigan State
NC State
U of Washington (WA)- might still be a low reach

Best of luck!
