College Admissions and GPA (Chances of getting into G-Tech, U-M, UIUC, and Purdue)

Hi, I am an international student applying to several schools such as UIUC, Purdue University, Georgia Tech, and University of Michigan.
As you see, I want to attend to schools that have good Engineering programs and I wish to major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.

It would be real thankful if you guys could provide good advice.

First of all I want to know if these schools look at my Freshman (9th grade) grades a lot.
So here is a basic summary of my GPA.

Weighted: 3.69
Unweighted: 3.625

9th Grade GPA: 3.00 / 2.50
10th Grade GPA: 4.00 / 4.00
11th Grades GPA: 4.13 / 4.13
12th Grade GPA: 4.13 / X

I am currently attending a Christian private school in California and I came to the states my sophomore year.
During my freshman year, I was back in my home country and, as you take a look at my freshman GPA, I did not want to study because I have no specific dreams.
But as I approached my sophomore year, I found something I really wanted to do and decided to finish my studies in the States.
After I came to the states, starting my sophomore year, I really pushed myself and studied hard.

In addition, my SAT scores are:

<sat i="">
Reading: 590
Math: 750
Writing: 610</sat>

1950

<sat ii="">
Math II: 750
Korean w/ Listening: 800</sat>

I am currently in ASB (Associated Student Body), Varsity Soccer team, and coupld of other clubs such as NHS, CSF, and NEHS.

I really want to attend Purdue University or University of Illinois (majoring Electrical Engineering). What would you say the chances are?
And, as mentioned above, I am worried that the colleges would look at my Freshman grades and deny me... Would this be a big deal?

You might want to take the SAT 2 in some other subject… Isn’t that your first language?

Wait nevermind, you’re a senior. I think you’ll get into Georgia Tech. Korean schools deflate grades more than American ones, so you shouldn’t worry too much about your freshman year grades.

Thanks lullinatalk!
So what would you say about the other schools? (such as Purdue and UIUC)
Do you think I might make it?

Probably a good chance at UIUC. Michigan could be a match/low reach given that your classes are rigorous enough. I only know about these schools because my close friends or I applied to them. No clue about Purdue.
