Im trying to get a jump start on my applications and I have a question, what should I write my essay about? I had an exchange student (who was my cousin as well) stay with me my junior year. should i write about that or another option is me describing my passion to serve my country and describe my trip to D.C. on a leadership forum. Im really pushing for the latter but I dont want to sound too "self-absorbed" or something of that nature? which one would be better? Thanks!

If you're applying to UPenn, Yale, Cornell, Northeastern, Syracuse, or Umiami, please do the leadership forum one.

Don't worry about sounding too self-absorbed. The college essay is supposed to be all about you... how else would they learn about you? :)

true, but if you sound too self-centered (my trip to the homeless shelter made me realise how lucky i am) you reveal all the negative thigns aobut you. Only.

write about the exchange student
