College Admissions Question

A university told our senior that "we assume you are coming unless you tell us otherwise", when our student inquired about responding on May 1; because this university had no information about the May 1st response date in their acceptance mailers. What if any concerns should our senior have about this? Can a room deposit still be made if it was made before accepting another college's offer? We found this to be very odd as they were the only university out of 12 that did not send any literature about the May 1st response deadline. Because of this university's stance, can our senior accept at another university by or before May 1st? This is the first run at the college "thing" so we are in the learning curve with our student. Thank you.

Your student can accept another college according to that school’s requirements. He/she is not bound by this other college’s stance.

Just be kind and let this school (and the others not chosen as well) know that your student is not going to attend next year.
