Good luck to all applicants out there! Let’s start posting the stats and trends on this thread.
Penn ED. http://www.thedp.com/article/2017/12/early-decision-upenn-ivy-league-philadelphia-admissions-rate
Early Apps: 7,074 (15% increase from last year)
Early Admits: 1,312
Admit rate: 18.5%
The number of early applications is noticeably higher in the data released so far. Quite possibly, there is a trend towards filling more of the class with ED and EA applicants as well?

@bronze2 I dont think there is a trend to fill a higher percentage of the class ED this year compared to the last 2-3 yeas. But in the last decade or so there has been a trend of filling more of the class early. I think the declining early admit rates for the ivies, Stanford, MIT as you show above is because more and more students now realize the advantage of applying early to ivy+ schools and the fact that RD in all these schools has become a real crapshoot.
The acceptance rates are scary and they would become worse and worse
@bronze2 Updates:
According to an email sent to alumni interviewers Penn received over 7500 ED apps, not 7074.
Columbia received 4,085 apps, one less app than last year. http://www.columbiaspectator.com/news/2017/12/14/cc-seas-receive-one-less-early-decision-application-than-last-year-breaking-upward-trend/
That is not many students accepted. Where do they list how many have been waitlisted?
You mean how many deferred? I’ll see if I can track it down. But there’s another thread, so I’ll post it there if I find it.
Yale College has offered admission to 842 applicants for the class of 2022 through its early action program. Dean of Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid Jeremiah Quinlan also reported that 55% of the 5,733 students who applied through early action were deferred for reconsideration in the spring, 29% were denied admission, and 2% were withdrawn or incomplete.
I think @Mathlete811 was looking for deferral #s on Princeton, but I appreciate the info on Yale.
Here is the link to the article about Yale SCEA admissions.

Hey @Penn95, I started a thread on this year’s stats. Can we get a moderator to merge the threads into one thread and pin it? Would be helpful for me.
Brown:
"The University admitted 21 percent of its early decision applicants to the class of 2022, selecting 738 students from the largest early decision applicant pool in the University’s history, wrote Dean of Admission Logan Powell in an email to The Herald. The University saw almost a 10 percent increase in the size of its application pool from last year with 3502 applications in comparison to 3186 for the class of 2021, Powell wrote.

Maybe we can list the deferral rate, as well.
I have info on MIT from several non-linked sources. They make it clear that applying early isn’t advantageous.
MIT EA 664 out of 9557 (6.9%) (185 withdrew) 6210 deferred to RD (apx. 65%); rejected 2498.
