Thank you for the updates! UVA, of course, was more selective this year than last.

Comparing 2022 Early Admission rates with 2021, and the 2021 class enrollment size. Note that QuestBridge numbers are included in the Acceptances numbers. For applicants not using the QuestBridge program, the admit rate would be slightly lower.

As the ED2 decisions will soon be released, I have added some additional rows for schools that typically release data when their ED1 and ED2 processes are all complete.

It is no longer a surprise that admission rates keep declining, due to the constantly increasing number of applications (for a constant number of spots). The trend I am keen to follow is how much more of the class each ED school is filling during the ED process to increase its yield. So far, every school which has released data - except Penn and Middlebury - has increased its ED intake. If the trend holds, the RD rates will inevitably decline sharply (more applicants each year, but fewer RD spots). To cite an extreme case, the Chicago RD admit rate was in the 2-3% range for the class of 2021.

Would love to see UNCCH EA results, thanks.

Did UNC CH release early action stats for 2021 or does anyone have knowledge of them? UNC announced this for 2020 but I haven’t seen similar for 2021.

Extract below:

(Chapel Hill, N.C. – Feb. 1, 2018) – For the 13th consecutive year, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill received a record number of first-year applications for fall 2018. The 43,384 applications reflect a 6 percent increase over last year.

The 25,867 first-year applicants who applied before the early action deadline in October were notified of their admissions decisions on Jan. 26. Admission was offered to 5,125 North Carolina students and 2,742 out-of-state students. The out-of-state students include 454 international students, an increase of 142 over last year. These numbers reflect an admissions rate of 48 percent for North Carolinians and 18 percent for out-of-state students, though this number will change after the second and final round of admissions decisions are made in March.

The University expects to enroll a first-year class of 4,205 and an additional 725 transfer students in the College of Arts & Sciences.

Tulane seems to have projected their RD acceptance rate well prior to their official notification date.

@merc81
They might have finished early. They accepted alot of differed applicants, so less reading involved maybe.

University of Florida RD 40,849 out of 12595 or 31% and with PACE (online for the first year 2271) which increases acceptance to 36%. http://www.alligator.org/news/article_3d1ce0be-1076-11e8-a8ab-130135ee031d.html

Does anyone know how to find differentiated acceptance rates specifically for ED2? I’ve been following these annual acceptance rate topics for 3 years and have never seen ED2 broken out from ED generally. Yet I occasionally see people post elsewhere specific ED2 data for specific schools in response to questions that suggests they are getting it somewhere. I’ve tried Googling the Common Set Data or the colleges websites in general and usually their press releases just discuss ED as a block.

We’re trying to understand the differential for the ED2 rate versus ED1 for certain schools.

Any information on Northeastern yet?

@citivas very few schools publicize the ED2 information… a few have it in the common data set, but if they announce ED1 numbers, we usually have to wait until they announce the next year’s class profile or release the CDS to get an idea how many additional applications they receive for ED2.

Not sure if this is exactly helpful because it doesn’t include any acceptance numbers. For the class of 2022 Bates College had 7,688 applications (this is for both ED1/2 and RD). This is a 45% increase from last year. http://www.bates.edu/news/2018/02/21/bates-college-attracts-record-number-of-applications-for-incoming-class/
