college admissions

hi, I’m currently a senior in high school. when i first started high school, my GPA was not that great. (average around 3.0 weighted and 2.9 unweighted) however my junior year GPA was around a 3.56. My first semester just pasted and my GPA is 3.4 weighted and 3.2 unweighted. Will this affect my chances in a Cal State schools like long beach or pomona? Will colleges think that I’m lazy and reject me? Please Help I feel like I’m going crazy…

move to chance page.

What is your CSU/UC GPA? What is your SAT/ACT test scores including breakdown? All CSU’s (except SLO) admit by the eligibility index. If you have your CSU GPA and your test scores, you can calculate your EI. Only 10-11th grades are considered and an upward trend in GPA is looked upon favorably.

(CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math + CR) or (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT composite x10).

Each applicant is ranked by their EI and their major. What is your intended major?

my CSU GPA is 3.27 and my highest SAT score is 1600. CR:580 Math:550 Grammar: 470. My intended major is marketing

So your EI is 3746. Cal Poly Pomona is probably a Match and Long Beach a High Match. Did you apply to any other schools? Are you local either for CPP or LB?

i applied to cal state: La, Fullerton, Northridge, LB. also UCI, UCR, UCSB, UCM. I live in LA

What I meant by local is are you in the local service area for these Cal States? Local in-service area applicants get priority at their local Cal State.

Your GPA will hurt your chances at the UC’s. Cal State LA will be your safety and Northridge should be a Match school. Fullerton and Long Beach could go either way.

Good Luck.
