College admissions

I want to get into a school that has a 56% acceptance rate. I’ve only taken one AP class my sophomore year, the rest have been gifted, accelerated or general. I currently have a 3.6 GPA and I have an average SAT score. What I want to know is what are my chances of getting into this college. Will any college accept me with these scores?

Google the common dataset for the college. Define average. It will give you the average enrolled GPA and 25th-75th percentiles for SAT scores. If you are at or above the average of these stats, then you stand a decent chance for an acceptance. You can also look what they consider in the admissions decisions such as the importance of HS Course rigor, Essays, EC’s, LOR’s, State Residency, Level of Applicants Interest etc…
Look at sections C7-C12. Here is an example for UC Irvine:

@pmam Following the above post, what is average? You have a 3.6? You can get into literally thousands of colleges. Which specific school are you looking at, and what is your SAT?

The 56% acceptance rate is relative. Some would not have a chance, some would be near certain to get in.

I agree with Gumbymom about the common data set, or CDS. That is the single best source for info on any college you are looking at.

Agree with the above 2 posts. The best source of admission info is the college itself. If your school has Naviance, use it too. Am assuming you are not an intentional. That can change things a bit.
