College and IB

So I've read about getting college credits from ib, but I keep on hearing different things about what top universities think about the ib program (and how it compares to an AP program). Has anyone heard of anything on this topic? I've checked admissions websites and I'm not sure if they are just absent of information on this or if I just haven't found the information yet.

If it helps, the universities I'm mostly interested are Michigan, Georgetown, Emory, Tufts, NYU, and the service academies. I know these are very ambitious schools but it never hurts to dream big :)

What are you expecting to hear?

IB is treated as being rigorous. However, no one admits you because you are doing an IB program.

IB is regarded as highly rigorous ( at our D’s high school, the AP classes are the first year for the HL classes). That being said, IB alone won’t get you admitted, as noted by texaspg.

For specifics, try searching to IB/AP credit on the college websites.
