College and Location

After college, do most students end up living near the college they went to or move somewhere else?

That depends of course on the school. For MOST state schools, it's usually true that they live pretty close. (It's usually represented as what geographic region they live in--Northeast, Midwest, South, Southwest, etc.)

It depends on the career they choose. There are only so many places in the country to do certain types of engineering and computer science. So, even if you go to school at CMU in Pittsburgh, you may end up in Washington or California, for example. People in scientific research also have a lot of mobility because there are usually a few main centers for certain kinds of research, particularly medical research.
