College AP Pysch

Im interested in going into the medical field and my counseler told me AP Pysch was important. Would colleges give more interest to someone who self studies AP Psych or takes the class in school. Or is it the same.

From a college admissions point of view, taking the class is infinitely more preferable than self studying.

AP Psych may be relevant for a future pre-med, but make sure you’ve already taken as many AP sciences as possible (Bio, Chem, and Physics 1).

Im taking 2 of the three science ap’s. I just wanna know whether to take or self study AP Pysch or ap Enviornmental Science. I have the option to take one as a self study and one as a class.

Depends what you need to balance out your schedule. For example, if you already have APUSH/Econ/Gov, then take APES and study for AP Psych. Or if you already have AP Bio/Chem/Physics then take AP Psych and study for APES. Ultimately, it won’t make much difference which class you have on your transcript.

Take the AP Psychology course in class and if you’re going to self study anything, self study environmental science. The big thing here is that even should you score a 5, since it’s a recommended course for your field of study, admissions counselors are going to want to see your letter grade performance in the course as well.
