College Application Building Help

Hey,

I am currently in the process as a junior trying to find colleges. I just feel like I am completely overwhelmed with colleges to choose. My guidance counselor is no help really.

I have a couple in mind, but would really like any suggestions, especially safety schools that might be similar to my matches and reaches.

My goal is to become a doctor, so BA/MD programs really interest me.

Thanks so much, and I apologize if this is in the wrong section.

Personal Information:
Top Decile, probably will change after this year. I have an extremely amazing class.

Colleges that I like now: Rochester, Dartmouth (I know this is a huge reach), and JHU.

Thanks so much.
Cheers!

Cornell University-they have a good marching band and great biology/pre-med.

Why not consider CMU?

To be honest, I need to leave Pittsburgh. I need the time to get away. Thank you for the advice.

I do not know how to edit. The only reason I did not really look at Cornell before is that I did not believe I had even a chance of getting into that level of school.

What kind of college experience are you looking for? Greek system a major part of campus life, like Dartmouth? Size of school? Distance from your family?

I would like for it to just be out of Pittsburgh and not to be in the deep South. I would like almost a medium ground (so to speak) if possible. I like cities, however I would not like to go to NYU. I like rural schools, also...however- there needs to be some social city close by. I would like a school that has a good pre-medical advisory program and has a lot of options for research, etc. I also am looking for a school that has allows with flexibility with your classes. Thanks!

Well, if you like New York City but want a more residential campus, try Fordham's Rose Hill Campus. It's gorgeous, and everyone I know who goes there loves it. Great school. Really well-rounded.

I also second the recommendation for Cornell.

Thanks. Does anyone know of good safety schools that are similar to schools like Cornell and Rochester?

Maybe RPI?

I think you should get into Rochester

I was just wondering that. I recently toured Rochester and really love the school. I was wondering if you think my chances would be good to get into Rochester, if I applied ED.

Try Rutgers for their BA/MD program. It's only a couple hours from Pitt and in a relatively suburban area. It's only a short ride to any large city as well.

USC in LA has a BA/MD program.

Syracuse U?

Brandeis sounds great for you (match)

Just out of curosity, which is a better school for neuroscience... Tufts or Rochester?
