Im a junior
and im confused about this whole college deal
i know i have to start soon but i dunno what to do
can somebody go over step by step how to apply to college?
a timeline of what to do will be appreciated as wel..

Please buy or borrow a book on college admissions. "Admissions Matters" is a good one. The process is way too lengthy to describe in a post. At this point you should be researching colleges and deciding what attributes you want in a college. And talk to your parents about what you can/cannot afford. Develop relationships with your teachers for recommendations. Study - get good grades. Take the SAT and/or ACT. Take SAT Subject Tests. Volunteer. Keep track of your activities.

1st thing to do: --make an apt. to sit down with your high school guidance counselor to go over the entire process.

--sign up now to take the SAT and/or ACT in the Spring
--buy some SAT/ACT prep books and start reviewing and practicing
--begin researching colleges--start with location preference (northeast, south, west, etc.).
--finish the year out strong--good grades, good relationships with teachers, get involved
--In the Spring--visit one or two schools to get a general feel for what a college campus is like. Take your SAT and/or ACT. I suggest taking both.

I second fireflyscout's recommendation, Admission Matters is a very helpful book. Check out your public library, I found it in mine.

Also, stalking CC helps...

lol, i agree with Modulation.
