College Application Process

Im a junior
and im confused about this whole college deal
i know i have to start soon but i dunno what to do
can somebody go over step by step how to apply to college?
a timeline of what to do will be appreciated as wel..

Please buy or borrow a book on college admissions. “Admissions Matters” is a good one. The process is way too lengthy to describe in a post. At this point you should be researching colleges and deciding what attributes you want in a college. And talk to your parents about what you can/cannot afford. Develop relationships with your teachers for recommendations. Study - get good grades. Take the SAT and/or ACT. Take SAT Subject Tests. Volunteer. Keep track of your activities.

1st thing to do: --make an apt. to sit down with your high school guidance counselor to go over the entire process.

–sign up now to take the SAT and/or ACT in the Spring
–buy some SAT/ACT prep books and start reviewing and practicing
–begin researching colleges–start with location preference (northeast, south, west, etc.).
–finish the year out strong–good grades, good relationships with teachers, get involved
–In the Spring–visit one or two schools to get a general feel for what a college campus is like. Take your SAT and/or ACT. I suggest taking both.

I second fireflyscout’s recommendation, Admission Matters is a very helpful book. Check out your public library, I found it in mine.

Also, stalking CC helps…

lol, i agree with Modulation.
