Hi!
I'm going to be a senior this school year and I'm trying to start filling out my applications to colleges. First though, I'm working on getting my academic resume ready. Here is my question: I joined the cross country team my sophomore year, paid my dues, ran in a race, got my uniform, and got in the team picture. But, because of the running hurting my knees really badly, I had to quit the team after about 3 weeks. Can I still put on my resume and applications under sports that I was on the cross country team or no because it was only for a short while? Thanks so much!

It really really won’t matter.

If I were you though, I wouldn’t do it.

Here’s you in 60 years: “Hey Gramma/Granpa. I heard you were on the cross country team in HS. Is that true”

Then you’ll be squirming in your seat to figure out what to say.

That’s why you shouldn’t list it.

I was thinking more along the lines of showing I am well rounded and have good sportsmanship for scholarship purposes…

Eh, well-roundedness is overrated. I think it would make you look like someone who quit things too easily.
