College Application Questions

Hi, I have some questions regarding the application process for UCs and Calstates.

Q1. I checked the box that I have a scheduled ACT. Say I do bad on it, do I have to send it? I have already sent my SAT scores.

Q2. When do I send my AP Scores? Do I send it to all individual campuses I am applying to?

Q3. If I failed one of the semester of an AP course, do I still get credit for it? Can I still put that I earned Credit for both fall and spring terms? Or do I just put that I earned credit for spring term?

Thank you for your help!

bump, hope someone answers :)

Q1. I think it is your call. If you get a not so good ACT and not send it, they will use your SAT to evaluate your application. I am sure if they have to make a decision between yours and another with equal SAT, GPA and EC’s, they will request additional information.

Q2. You could send the APs now. For my son, he did send them to all the campuses that he is applying. But it says somewhere that once you sent the scores to one UC, they share that information with all the UCs.

Hope this helps

Yes, one UC will share scores with all other UC’s. That doesn’t mean they’ll share with the CSU’s.

And the UC’s require all test scores. Whether that means you have to send both your SAT and your ACT scores I don’t know . . . but you’d better check the website and find out.

On the UC application, do you post the highest scores even though they ask for test date? My son took it several times, and got the same score, but the subject tests vary each time with a high score on each of the three different tests.

@liveonboca I believe you post your highest SAT score ON the application, but you HAVE to send all test scores to the UC through collegeboard

I am not 100% sure though, you should call the UC Admission.

I am going to call them to ask my questions too.

Good luck.

For the UC’s, you post your highest single sitting, and then send all your scores.

And if all your single sittings have the same total score, just pick the one you like best.
