College Apps: Demographic Information PROBLEM

I am Korean, Chinese, and Taiwanese.
As I began to fill out my application for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, it asked my to mark which kind of Asian I am. It allows me to only select one. If I select other, I can specify which Asian. However, it only allows me to type in 20 characters max.
Question: Should I...
a) select other and type in: Korea/China/Taiwan
b) choose one and type the other 2 in the specify other box
c) choose one

Thanks in advance,
Senior applying to colleges

East Asians tend to be lumped together into one group. Pick the one that you identify most with, and move on.

I guess the better question is… will it hurt me at all to choose a?
This situation probably is trivial, but it just doesn’t sit with me well.

nobody cares. it doesn’t change anything

CA colleges cannot use race as a factor in admissions. They are race-blind by law. The information is used for federal statistical purposes. So, no it won’t hurt you or help you at Cal Poly.

Btw, if you are bothered by the question, you can choose not to answer it.
