Is it true that everyone can tell who the freshmen are because they are the ones with tons of their college's gear on? Is it considered dorky in college to wear stuff from your school?

Also, if any school has particulary cute sweatshirts, what are they? Saint Anselm has these insanely comfy sweatshirts for girls that are only 20 bucks and come in pink, green, purple, blue, yellow, maybe more.

I think you're putting too much thought into this.

The only thing I can say is I think it's strange to wear a pink or purple shirt for your school when your school's colors are something like blue and white.

The only way people can tell someone's a freshman is if they're seen staring at a campus map while walking to class the first few days of the year.

I wear school gear a lot---it's what I have a lot of, so it's what I wear. One of my jobs requires that we wear school clothing to all practices and I usually go there straight from class, so I wear that most of the time.

I'm not a fan of wearing gear that has your school's name plastered on it but doesn't feature school colors. Much like the MLB hats that come in every color under the rainbow for every team--Yankees hats in Red? Blah. A's hats in blue? Blah. XXXXXX School (say blue and white colors) in Purple and Silver? Blah. Something about it bothers me.

No one cares about what you're wearing, really; as long as you're not half-naked in winter or wearing a pea coat in summer, & don't smell like stale ass, then you're be all squared away.

well at least at BC, EVERYONE wears BC gear.. freshman through senior. people can only tell your a freshman when you look at maps like cards4life said. beginning of this year i walked around for 20 minutes looking at names on buildings just because i refused to look at a map.

i would actually think that by senior year im going to be wearing MORE college stuff. this year alone i have like 3 tshirts, a sweatshirt, sweatpants, 2 hats, and a scarf. i can only imagine how much more that stuff is going to accumulate over 3 more years.

and before someone asks.. no freshman arent the only ones wear HS gear either. everyone does it and most of the time theyre sweats.. who cares?

Yeah, seriously, people don't really care what you wear. I know that at schools with alot of spirit (big football schools for example) everyone wears shirts with school stuff on it. I wear Auburn stuff all the time, and so does everyone else. You CAN wear high school stuff too, I wear club t-shirts from high school (I didn't play sports) but I know alot of people who wear like "xhs baseball" or "zhs cheer" or whatever, just don't do it like everyday. Here it's basically according to weather: if it's cold, we wear jeans and hoodies. if it's warm, we wear jeans and t-shirts (guys often wear shorts). if it's hot, we wear shorts and t-shirts (girls often wear tank tops). People wear flip flops all year in the south because it rarely gets THAT cold here.

I didn't give a damn about wearing my college gear my freshmen year. Hell, I didn't give a damn about walking around with a map my first few days. Nobody clowned me, and I still made friends with upperclassmen. But I have a certain swagger about me. I do what I want when I want, and I don't look for other people's approval. So people didn't clown me, even if I walked around campus the first couple of days looking a little "noobish". If I couldn't find a building, I either read a map and found it, or I found a hot girl and asked her how to get there. And, gasp, I never got made fun of!
