I enrolled in College of Business & I'm trying to fill out my housing form, but I don't know which one to put as my first choice. My friend said College Ave is the best because it's really lively, but on the site, it says it houses the smallest number of first year students. And I kind of want to live with mostly freshmen instead of upperclass people. Livingston is my second choice, but I just saw a thread saying Livingston is horrible, the halls are dirty & it's SO boring & there's annoying construction. Can someone offer their insight?

Considering that the housing form has been available for awhile AND that College Avenue is popular in choice, you may or may not get housing on College Avenue =(

If you want to live with freshmen and don’t really want to live on Livingston, I suggest that you put College Avenue as your first choice and Busch campus as your second. Freshmen are put together for housing on Busch (in one of the B.A.M.M. dorms or Davidson), and it’s only a 5-7 bus ride away from College Avenue.

I don’t know about Livingston’s housing inside, but the construction at the moment is a bit of a mess, but hopefully it will be improved (or DONE) by September. It’s kind of a depressing campus because it’s just there – in the middle of nowhere.

Yikes, this is what I’m afraid of in college. I’m not too outgoing, and at this rate…if I stay in Livingston…I WILL NOT BE MAKING ANY FRIENDS, will I?

I too, am enrolled in New Brunswick Business…but is Busch really that good? I was considering Douglass as my first choice, and Livingston as my second. For the car issue. Oh, and btw…where in the world is the housing application!!! I’m going around and around on the Rutgers site and can’t find it anywhere.

^ LOL, you can get to the housing form through your Enrollment Pathway.

Douglass? Like the all girls dorm or something? I heard that’s really boring too…my friend stayed their overnight as a visit & said it was so boring.

Now I’m debating between what to put 2nd…Livingston (where Business school is located) or Busch?

I swear my enrollment pathway thingie isnt working!!! All I get is that weirdo animated scroll with the words CONGRATULATIONS, etc. NOTHING ELSE!

Please provide me with a link if you can, pretty please?!?!

Yup, Douglass is the girl dorms. Though I heard they also have a dorm for guys? Boring…?? Really? I dont mind too much b/c I’m planning on cracking down and studying in my first year (how sad…I should be out partying). I’m hoping to transfer out of Rutgers and to Cornell after 2 yrs (still in the process of figuring out if I can transfer credits). Im trying REALLY REALLY HARD. The last thing I need are temptations…and apparently Busch has a lot of them? Especially College Av, I heard. >.<

Anyways, I heard that Livingston was even more boring. Apparently, its the “dead” dorm. No one does anything…EVER. Sadly, I think I might have to stay at Livingston b/c I need my car my first year, and Livingston is the only dorm that allows all residents to have a car. Good luck w/ your decision! =)

Put Busch as your second choice! It’s way better than Livingston and not…dead x_x

Plus, with the bus from Busch Campus Center –> Livingston, you are only a 5 minute bus ride from the Business school.

They are trying to make Livingston the freshman campus so you won’t feel lonely there. Livingston is a really solid campus from what I hear. If you are doing business, you will have a lot of business classes there too.

blissfumemories: Did you just send in your enrollment deposit recently? If so, you’ll have to give them time to process it. Keep checking back.

Ugh, now I’m really conflicted.

I’m putting College Ave first, definitely even though I probably won’t get it.

Now I’m still debating between Busch & Livingston…although Busch sounds more appealing right now? But, the more I read the dorm threads, the more confused I get, LOL. So, as a business major…which is the better choice?

u wont take any actual classes in the business school till ur jr year, so it doesnt matter whether or not u live on lvingston. i would go college ave 1, busch 2. i lived on college ave my freshman year and really enjoyed it. livingston is a very small, open, depressing campus with not much to offer. busch at least has a little more goin on, and its a big pain to get to college ave after 8 pm from livy if u need to
