Sorry for the misleading title. Has anyone experienced problems with their essay grade? I've been getting 10's and 11's on practice essays and only got 8 on the real thing. Sounds like ***** to me. Has anyone had any similar problems? These graders seem to be overly subjective. I think I got two graders who were tired and wanted to get out so they gave everyone 8's. I'm definately getting my essay regraded. 700 to a 740 score increase.

Well, who was giving you those 10's and 11's on practice essays? Were you using the College Board's computerized scoring program? Was a teacher or tutor giving you those scores? Were you giving yourself those scores?

Obviously, none of the above are going to match the actual way the College Board scored the essays so some variation from your practice scores is to be expected.

You can get your essay regraded? I didn't know that, what do you have to do to have it regraded?

Same way as you can get answer sheets hand-scored. Call up college board for more details. That's what I will do. All I know is rescoring of an essay can be done. That's all.
And yes, Carolyn, PR was consistently giving me those grades. Not one person, either, many PR people. And no, PR isn't that flawed. I've seen similar essays get 12's. I'm just saying my essay deserves a mere 10.
