College board error?!?

On my January score report it says that I omitted a math question, but I remember CLEARLY that i didnt... in 4 tests i have never omitted a question..

Is it possible for them to have made a mistake? It would mean 20points in my score... i got 730 -3 plus an omit...

call them. it's possible.

Yes, if you feel that CB made an error, you can have hand-scoring done at a cost of $25. Perhaps you filled the bubble in so faintly that the machine did not detect it and marked it as an omit?

Here's a link to their page about requesting hand-scoring. http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/scores/sending/handscore.html

I wouldn't get too emotional. Look at the score range; it is probably 700-760. Twenty points is not that significant (that is, I doubt it will make or break your college chances).

In any case, why spend $25 to get handscoring, when you can spend a little more and retake the whole test?

I know, but i am bitter against the whole test...

I dont think $25 is worth it however... unless they find an error... I bet i just skipped a bubble on like 22 and then bubbles 23 24 25 26... and got 3 wrong...

Ok...I know it wont matter for college admission...or atleast you better hope it doesnt. But what is 25 dollars? Sure it may seem a lot now, but think about how much college costs in general. 25 dollars is nothing. I say spend the money and get what you deserve.

Yeah, I agree with laterdaysluke.

Spend the money. It's way worth it.

no it's not. Do you really think getting a 750 will make you that much better of an applicant

If you are at a cut off point for merit aid, 20 points can make difference - 1390 vs 1400, or 1440 vs 1450. As some schools, achieving the next increment means thousands of dollars per year.

I'd pay $25 for 20 points on MY SAT score...

Think of it this way, spend 25 dollars=possible 20 point increase, or at least knowing for sure what went wrong. If you don't spend 25 dollars you won't get the 20 point increase either and you will always wonder 'what if...' or 'maybe i should have', and seriously, 25 dollars won't mean much in the long run.
