College Board IDOC requires me to submit tax returns

Hello! Hope somebody can help me!

I was filling my CSS profile and then I was requested to submit some documents into IDOC. In those documentos, I was requested to submit my tax return. Im 17, Mexican and I don’t work, therefore I don’t have any kind of income. The Student’s Non-tax Filer’s Statement asks me to list all of my income and a W2 form, obviously, I don’t have any kind of access to this form and I have no income. So, what can I do? Or what will be the correct process in this situation?

I really need help, thank you!!!

The student non-filer statement should have a spot for you to indicate you did not file…and why.

If you don’t have documents the IDOC requests because you aren’t supposed to have them, then you don’t submit them.

The form asks for sources of income but there is no space to indicate that I don’t file tax returns, it makes me complete a list of all my income sources

Just write…NONE. And the $0.

Ok, in that case the request to submit W2 forms should also be ignored? Or is there any procedure that should done regarding that case?

My kids haven’t completed a Profile in a long time. BUT seems to me…that if you have NO job, and NO income, you would also have NO W2 form to send.

I’m confused about your non-filers statement. The ones I have seen have clearly stated that taxes were not filed, and a place for the reason why was there.

Hoping someone else will chime in with more recent Profile experience…

@mommdc ?

Sorry, I have no experience with CSS profile. My kids’ schools only require FAFSA.

@BelknapPoint ??

OP is asking about specific college requirements that are processed through IDOC. Fortunately, I never had to deal with IDOC, but I assume that if IDOC lists a form that the school is asking for and the applicant doesn’t have any such forms, simply noting “None” or “N/A” should be sufficient, and following up directly with the school just to be sure wouldn’t be a bad idea. There are lots of applicants who have never filed their own tax return or who have never had the kind of job that would generate a W-2, so it’s not like the colleges wouldn’t be familiar with this kind of situation.
