The College Board disclosed Tuesday that an additional 1,600 SAT scores have not been rechecked from an exam in October that had scoring problems.

The previously overlooked batch of answer sheets came from among those being scored separately for a variety of reasons, including security concerns. Some of those scores were on hold and had not been reported, but others may have been reported incorrectly, according to an e-mail sent to college admissions officers and guidance counselors early Tuesday. The statement also was posted on the College Board's Web site.

College Board spokeswoman Chiara Coletti said Tuesday she became aware of the latest problem late Monday. The sheets will be rescanned over the next few days and colleges and students notified of any changes as soon as possible.

She said she expected some, though perhaps a small number, of scores would be affected.

''To the best of my knowledge, there are no more surprises,'' she said.

Right - and I have a lovely bridge I'd like to sell to you.

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/national/AP-SAT-Scoring-Mistake.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

The lawsuits will begin after these possible headlines coming in a few weeks:

"Congress to investigate all SAT tests in last two years."

"Democrats demand end of SAT."

"College Board denies any widespread problem."

"Colleges reject thousands using wrong SAT scores."

"Rejected student with wrong SAT commits suicide."

"Bush supports sale of College Board to United Arab Emeratis."

ROFl, that was hilarious buddy, lolol

I just sent them an email saying I want all of my tests rescanned. They'll never do it, but at least I let them know that their handling of this has been a joke.

And it's completely ridiculous. They are saying it will be at least 2 weeks before they can even start looking at everything.

Of course "best" is a relative term.... "my" knowledge may be very limited..... things that you might consider "surprises" may not actually be very surprising to those of us who know how screwed up we really are!!!!

It's kind of ironic, 1600 scores to be rechecked.

All I want the CB to do is find 20 points for my daughter. It would make her eligible for a program at a school to which she has been accepted. TWENTY POINTS...I think she should be given that because she took the test in October...

i am starting to wonder if other tests like the past December and January tests were scored wrong

Go with the ACT. :)

I am definitely waiting to see how long it takes for the first class-action lawsuit to hit!!
