Are the student body GPA's for incoming freshman weighted on the website or not... for instance at UCSD:

* 54% had h.s. GPA of 3.75 and higher
* 25% had h.s. GPA between 3.5 and 3.74
* 13% had h.s. GPA between 3.25 and 3.49
* 6% had h.s. GPA between 3.0 and 3.24
* 1% had h.s. GPA between 2.5 and 2.99
* 1% had h.s. GPA between 2.0 and 2.49

Is that 54% built of students weighted or unweighted GPAS?

bump bump.........

Try and see if the school has a student profile on their website. I think its weighted though

UCSD uses the "UC GPA" for those statistics.

It's kind of a mix of both.

The UCs don't "mix" their GPAs. They use the UC GPA, not only for admission, but for their statistical releases. Here is how they define the GPA used on their freshman profiles:
Quote:
"GPA is defined as a student's GPA in the "a-g" requirements. The average high school GPA listed for each campus is computed from 10th and 11th grade coursework, including up to eight honors courses. These GPAs are drawn from application data at the systemwide admissions office. Average exam scores are derived from the highest official reported scores."

You can use that same link to find the freshman profiles for all 9 of the undergraduate UCs. For the breakdown on % admitted for each GPA range (as raiderfan has it above), click the little "download detailed admit rate chart" on each school's freshman profile.

thanks for the help everyone

Depends on the school. Some schools listed unweighed GPAs, others list weighed GPAs. I am not sure about the UCs. I think they list weighed GPAs, but I could be wrong.
