Hello. I am a freshman in college. I have recently withdrawn from two science classes in November, which were General Biology 1 and Intro. to Psychology. Now I am a part-time student, and I am currently taking a General Chemistry and English 1 course. I have majored in B.S. Chemistry, and I am planning to pursue a career in pharmacy. What are my chances of transferring to a pharmacy school? What can I do to increase them? Should I begin studying and preparing for the PCAT exam? Should I take 4 classes or more, or less, per semester? What would be the best times for me to start taking internships?

Prove yourself with good grades in the prerequisites such as physics, general chemistry, calculus, biology, organic chemistry.

I would like for you to elaborate on your advice. (By the way, I already know that).

Elaborate on your question - are you talking about transferring to another 0-6 program, transferring to a 0-6 program from a non- 0-6 prpgram, or applying to a 4-year pharmacy school for fall 2016 admission after finishing prerequisites by summer 2016?

I am planning to transfer to a six year program from a non-six year program. I am not exactly sure that this is what I want. But, I would like to transfer from my currently enrolled college to a pharmacy school as fast as possible. So, I guess my question is the latter.

I am just guessing, but the best place for such information is probably on the websites of 0-6 schools.

Narrow down the 0-6 programs you are interested in by geography, ranking, and / or cost, and explore their websites and if you have more questions about transferring call or email their admissions people.

I’ve decided! I am interested in a pharmacy school in Albany—or I am rather interested to apply to a pharmacy school just about anywhere in upstate New York. I would also like to apply to one of the top 20 pharmacy schools in New York. I am still researching for more details about getting into a good school. If I get enrolled into a pharmacy school, like Albany University, I would like to know of where I can find a list of other pharmacy schools, including their tuition, the scholarships that are offered there, and the amount of financial aid that they can support.

There is another website with very active pharmacy school - related forums. Google ‘student doctor network pharmacy’.

These following questions have not been answered: What can I do to increase chances of getting into a pharmacy school? Should I begin studying and preparing for the PCAT exam? Should I take 4 classes or more, or less, per semester? What would be the best times for me to start taking internships?

Do you have a pre-pharmacy advisor you can meet with at your school?
