I can get a minor in material science without extending my stay in college (some cramming will be involved though...~18 credits each semester for the rest of my undergrad studies).
I am majoring in biomedical eng. Is it worth it?

Or else, if I don't do the certificate, I was thinking of taking several computer science courses (no certificate).

On the one side, what is the difference between a certificate and a minor or an emphasis area or whatever? I put my senior project prominently on my reusme. OTOH, biomedical and material science - I see many areas for things like medical glass (googgle Dr. Delbert Day MST.edu) ceramic hip replacments, the best titanium to use,… I mean you could easily get into a couple of these classes, pick up a summer job in that sector and be golden even if you never finish the offically recognized certificate. I think anytime you can add an interest area where nobody else has any expertise you set yourself apart.
