Hey, this is my first post on CC. I'm pretty new but I appreciate the help. So thank you in advance.

Well, I graduate hs in 2011. I go to a highly competitive school in MA.

As far as my grades go....
After my sophomore year my overall weighted gpa was a 2.9. Not too good.
My junior year was a little complicated. I ended up going through a terrible depression and had to miss school for about a month. Emotional distress and other factors didn't help my grades too much. First three terms of junior year. C+ in English, History, Math. Fs or Ds in Spanish or Chem. However, I got everything under control. And ended up getting B+ in English, A- in Math, A- in history for my last term. Brought up Chem to a D+ (still not that great but improvement nevertheless). Spanish idk. However, I have an F as my final year grade for Chem. yeah...

I should have solid recs from my Math and English teacher. Counselor is willing to explain the whole depression thing. SAT - 2070 w/o score choice. SAT 2 subject tests are decent. I'm assuming my GPA is much lower after all this but still.

I'm looking at colleges in the DC area as the title says. I'm thinking of Goucher College, Towson U, UMBC, American (slim), UMD college park (slim), and George Mason.

I don't know how colleges respond to situations like this, so I really appreciate your input.

Thoughts?
