What is your course rigor like? AP scores?
Are you going to retake your ACT? It’s on the low end for Cornell and Georgetown.
Have you taken your subject tests yet? While they aren’t required, they are still strongly recommended, especially for Georgetown.
But most importantly, what are your safety schools? I see reaches and a matches only on your list.
And lastly, are these schools affordable for your family?
I can definitely see you at Colgate University. GWU as well. UVA also. Emory is a reasonable target/match school. Cornell is tough & Georgetown likes money.
Affordability, however, is an important consideration.
Thanks for your thoughtful response! To address some of the items you brought up:
1.) George Washington (40% w/ avg ACT score of 29), American (25% w/ avg ACT score of 29), and Syracuse (52% w/ avg ACT score of 27) are my safety schools. I plan on applying to 15+ schools, however, so I am planning on either getting into a target or reach school.
2.) Money will not be much of a limiting factor, as my family has saved up enough money to pay for my college tuition.
3.) I have not taken SAT subject tests yet, but plan on taking several in the Spring. I also heard that AP exams count as a substitute to subject tests. I have already scored a 4 on US History, and plan to take 4 more exams in May of 2020.
4.) I think I updated my AP list as you were typing your response… LOL! Sorry. I took AP US History last year, and I’m taking 4 more APs (Psychology, English Language, US Government, Environmental Science) this year.
Hope this helps! Let me know what you think.
