<p>I've recently been waitlisted at my top-choice college, Carleton, which offers $2,000/year for National Merit Finalists. I've also been accepted to my other two colleges that offer $2k/year, Macalester and Grinnell. Right now I have Grinnell as my top choice for National Merit. But if I get accepted off the Carleton waitlist in May, I have every intention of attending Carleton. Would I still be able to change my college choice in May for National Merit and still receive the college scholarship, or do I have to choose some time in April?</p>
<p>May 31st is the final deadline for your first choice school. However, if you have a first choice selected on May 1st, you may get an award from that school, and once you receive one you can’t switch. So if you really want to hold out for your top choice, and think you might come off he waiting list by May 31st, you should probably switch to Undecided until then.</p>
