beechbum, you're only in 10th? for the longest time I assumed you were a senior!

beechbum is a senior. the 10th grade is the starting grade

3, 11th grade.

All at UC Berkeley... and all math classes...

2 at Yale, between junior and senior years
1 AP junior year
2 APs senior year

suburbian -- I'm pretty sure beechbum is a senior. I think what he meant was that he started his college classes in 10th grade... that was what the OP asked. I may be wrong.

yeah, i'm a senior.....second semester in fact :D

How does one take 6 and a half APs?

I have 0 college classes and 1 AP :(

I took 3 Bio courses from UMD College Park. I've taken 7 APs, started in tenth. (although i'd love to strike AP chem from my transcript)

0 college. 2 at canadian university. 15 ap 5 self study

My son has taken 11 college classes, starting in 8th grade.
And will have 6 APs done by June.

(When I was in high school, we didn't have APs and it was unheard of for h.s. kids to take college classes. You guys are impressive! I can't imagine how well prepared you all are for college.) :)

Oh and I will have done eight AP classes (chem, bio, physics C, calc b/c, stat, literature, government, economics)

Ooh! I just remembered that I took health by correspondence through Texas Tech so that I could graduate, so my "college" classes count is at a grand 0.5.

And maybe half an AP is like, just micro or macro economics or something?

I'm wondering, would there be any point in taking both the Calc AB and BC tests in the same year? I'm doing AB in school and BC independent study.

I said 6 and a half because I'm only taking half of Physics B AP. I'm switching to honors. It was just a joke. An unsuccessful joke, but a joke nonetheless. and surburbian, why not? if you want to spend the extra money, go for it. You're given an AB subscore on the BC test though, so I don't know...

heh, forgot about the extra $70. My school pays for IB exams, but not for AP.

At our school, the AB and BC tests are administered at the same time. There's really no point to taking both because of the AB subscore. I know that two-thirds of the free-response problems on the BC test was identical to the AB test last year, with the last two problems only on BC material (eg:Taylor series), and I assume that the same goes for the multiple choice section. However, if you're going to Yale, they don't distinguish between AB and BC when giving credit for acceleration, so if I were you, I would pick one or the other. Which one is your choice.
