Hi, It is summer now and ive been looking at alot of colleges. I am looking for very competitive and respectable universities..

-4.0 unweighted GPA in Sophomore and Junior Years.
-Have taken the most rigorous courses offered at my school with almost every class being Honors/AP

ACT-28...(but will retake June)
SAT 2's ...Korean 800, Math 1 730, US history - 630 (will take Math 1 and 2, US History in June *Hoping for 700+!!)

Activities: Soccer, Marching Band, Band, Tennis, Community Service (270 Hours),

Leadership Pos: Future Business Leaders of America-Vice President, Freshman Advisor

Awards: Economics 8th place in State (Fbla Illinois)

---Specifically would Michigan, UCLA, Northwestern qualify??

Please mention any other schools!

Thanks!

Go onto the College Board, College Navigator or College Data websites and punch in your scores or look by individual college to compare your stats to theirs. (most will show you where the middle 50% of the admits scored) To improve your chances, look for schools where you scores are in the top 25%. If you have a DREAM school, but are not at the tippy top…don’t be discouraged because NO ONE can really figure what goes on in the minds of the admission people. Remember that your essays and teacher recommendations are also VERY important.

Will you be a NMF? What is your home state? What can your parents afford?

I live in IL and they want me to go to the best possible school regardless.

And what is NMF?

Thanks!

You look like a strong applicant. Have you taken the SAT?

NMF = National Merit Finalist. It would open up a host of schools with scholarships.

I have not but i do plan to take it this october.

Ive focused too much on ACT since Illinois focuses on ACT…

So you are a rising junior right now?
