I have began looking for my college computer. I really want an apple but I am so used to working with pc's. Also, i am an avid user of gobinder and I was wondering if any gobinder users used it with apples. Is gobinder compatible with apples?
If I don't get an apple I am getting a toshiba tablet. Thoughts/opinions on either?

Get an apple.

Last thing you need when your term paper is due to have a college virus which is rather common PCs.

Gobinder only has a PC/Windows version. Since Apple doesn't have a Tablet PC (yet), there's little need to re-write the software for a non-existent product. In theory, you might be able to run Mac's Virtual PC to run Gobinder, but why not get a Toshiba R10/15 or better yet the new Tecra M4 (kinda expensive)?

Anyone know if Toshiba has a student discount?

I'm between the Toshiba M4 and the Gateway M275... equally epuipped (1.8ghz, 512MB, 80GB, DVD burner, etc) they cost about the same but I get a student discount at Gateway which brings it down to about $300 less than the Toshiba. I've only heard HORRIBLE things about Gateway's service and that's one thing I'm concerned about... when I'm spending close to $2500 on a machine I would hope that the company can back their product.

Anovice: The Gateway M275 is a second generation Tablet PC. It's been on the market for the past 18 months.

The Toshiba M4 has just been released and represents the appearance of thrid generation Tablets.

As for school discounts, you'll have to go to your college website to see if Toshiba offers an educational discount. My nephew's school lists Toshiba as a vendor, but no prices are on the site. It advices you to call the school for pricing. I did this over a year ago and was told that the school was still negotiating with Toshiba over educational discounts. So far nothing seems to have changed. You may be better off going to Toshibadirect.com to see if they offer a student discount.

Back to the mac situation I have the same concerns as berry, is it really that easy to go from windows pc's to macs. Im thinking about getting a iBook or a powerbook, which is better??
