College Confidential on your iPhone!

Good news for CC’s iPhone users - we are one of the first adopters of a brand-new iPhone app, [url=&lt;a href=“http://www.tapatalk.com/]Tapatalk[/url”&gt;http://www.tapatalk.com/]Tapatalk[/url</a>], that lets CC members read and post from their iPhone. Tapatalk is now in the iPhone App Store.

A few notes:

  1. We aren’t the developer of this app, and can’t handle bug reports, app problems, etc.

  2. We don’t get any part of the revenue when you buy the app ($2.99). We have implemented the server-side portion of this app as a free (for our part) service to our members.

  3. Tapatalk works with multiple communities. You may have to drill down to find CC - we are listed in the “Education” category.

Even though we can’t handle bugs, etc., we are interested in your feedback on how this app works for you. Feel free to post below.

For non-iPhone users, you can access the forums from your phone with a variety of tools. I like OperaMini. We will soon be implementing a special mobile theme that should work with a broader range of phone and smartphone browsers. I’ll ask here - what’s your favorite mobile browser for use with CC?

Hope you like this!

This is exactly what I’ve wanted. I’m not sure whether to buy but I’m leaning towards it right now.

Thanks guys.

Cool. I just installed it and it works great. Very easy to get around. I’m sure they will be adding new features to it in the coming months - like being able to subscribe to thread - but the ability to post from my iphone is awesome.

“We have implemented the server-side portion of this app as a free (for our part) service to our members.”
I sure hope you have beefed up your servers for a surge of usage!

…or you could just add CC to the iPhone home screen…and not pay $2.99…

Any mobile phone browser should allow use of CC. This app, however, interacts more directly to make reading and posting easier. That’s the theory, at least. We’re looking forward to some feedback.

I find it very difficult to zoom in and out and navigate the various forums on the Safari browser, and typing is not always easy either. Often I just wait until I get home to post. This may change that.

2.99? not worth it IMO…

darn. I have a blackberry.

Agreed asian man–if it were free I would be all over it, maybe even for .99 too…

…But 3 is a little much (for me)

Has anyone actually purchased and able to give us a review?

Yesss! I totally posted a thread begging someone to make an app and my dream has come true!
Now all I need is a Cadillac Escalade and to get into UCB and my life will be complete!

Would use this if it were free.

It crashes every time I go to the forums… For example, I’ll go to the McGill sub-forum and expect to see a list of threads, but it just crashes and sends me back to the home screen.

Hmmm. i’ve been able to get cc on my samsung instinct for as long as i’ve had the thing. i don’t have a cool app button for it though

Same here. Haven’t gotten it to work properly yet.

The only reason I got it was because I happened to have an iTunes gift card that I needed to use up. Disappointed thus far :frowning:

CC works perfect via iPhone’s Safari web browser. I post/read posts on here all the time using it :).

Navigation/Zooming is easy: simply double-tap on a block of text and that paragraph of words will fill up the entire screen at the largest size possible. Simply double-tap again to zoom out and see the whole web page.

Someone needs to get out more…LOL

I had a similar issue of it not working but I found out it was because I had not activated my registration. After I clickedo on the activation link in my email, things seems to be working and I can see all the threads and post from my iphone.

I purchased the app and have found it to be very useful and stable. CC on the iPhone safari isn’t bad but you can’t beat a native iPhone app for quick and easy use. And as for the $2.99, I have spent that and more on much less useful apps for the iPhone. IMHO it is worth the money.

^notice how it’s an admin speaking in favor of the app…:stuck_out_tongue:
