College Counseling Time

I got back to school and my counselor and I started talking about the strangest requests and preferences he's had from students, so we decided to play along with this...

If you were a college counselor, what would be the first and last school you'd send these students to, (note these were all real cases, I check #4 was too):

Student #1 - Wants to become the next [Boy George/URL

Student #2 - Wants to attend a real life Hogwarts

Student #3 - A boy that wants to become a [URL=<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pink_collar%5Dpink-collar">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pink_collar]pink-collar</a> worker](<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boy_George%5DBoy">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boy_George) for a living (possibly interior design, HGTV star)

Student #4 - Member of the Church of Satan

Student #5 -Student want to be able to both surf and ski

Student #1: CalArts or NYU
Student #2: St. Andrews
Student #3: Johnson & Wales <a href="http://www.jwu.edu/%5B/url%5D">www.jwu.edu/</a>
Student #4: Bob Jones Univ.
Student #5: USC or Pamona

My counselor's response was:

for #1, Bard College

for #2, University of Chicago

for #3 & #4, he was at a loss

for #5, University of California-Santa Barbara (is this true???)

The last one is easy... practically any school in California.
The S.F. Bay Area (Berkeley, Stanford, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz) are all close to the ocean and no more than 3-4 hours from Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevadas... In Southern Cali (UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, Caltech, Pomona, Harvey Mudd, Claremont McKenna, USC, UC Riverside, UC Irvine) are all about 4 hours from great skiing
at Big Bear...

I went to grad school at Berkeley and worked for a year at UCSB, and knew a number of people who both snowboarded and surfed.

For a member of the Church of Satan, I would suggest Bob Jones University, Liberty University, or BYU... really, if you were Satanic, wouldn't the best place to go be a far right wing Christian school, pose as one of their own, and then covertly turn them to the dark side?

I am surprised that your counselor didn't immediately recommend Johnson & Wales......it is pretty well know for what it does. Mr. Pink Collar will get more out of that program than most of the others.
