Hi Guys:

So I will be applying ED to Wharton next year, and I feel I need some outside assistance in order to make sure I represent myself the best I can in my app. I have found a local college counseling facility in NC that could possibly be helpful, but I am not sure how much they will be able to help me. I want to find a counselor that knows the ins-and-outs of Penn and even better Wharton. Does anyone know of any legitimate counselors either online or off that could be helpful?

I am looking for someone reasonably priced, with a max of about $2,000 (I plan to spend my savings, and don't know if I can afford more than that).

Just someone who can assist me and make senior year apps less stressful, but help me prepare my Penn app to the best it can be!

Yeah, I have a feeling the essays are crucial for me, and a counselor will help me keep my sanity through senior year (I will have the most busy schedule I have had in high school). So I think that would be the reason for me to spend my money. Please let me know if anyone knows of any counselor experienced in Penn, because if I spend the money, I want to spend it on someone who will be worth it! :)

i also advise to not spend any money. any questions you have can be posted here on this forum and this forum has many experienced students that offer great help and insight. i would trust these certain students more than i would any college counselor.

also, there are many people on here that can also peer edit your essays and give honest and great feedback. please do not spend two grand on a counselor.

omg 2k? I’ll be your counselor!

edit: no but seriously, don’t do it since it’s a waste of money. Also, misrepresenting yourself on an app in accordance with a counselor’s suggestions will only lead to regret and misery.
