College Counselor Recommendation - Necessary?

Is having a college counselor recommendation an absolute necessity if you want to apply to college? My school's counselors were crap and not very helpful, so I never asked for one from them. Instead, I got two college recommendations from one AP teacher and a professor. Will the colleges I apply to overlook this? Or will my applications be thrown out? Please answer,

Thanks

Umm, well it's rather important to say the least, if not a requirement at most colleges, so I would suggest you get on this quickly. Also, don't think you are the only person in this situation, namely, greatly disliking your counselor, many applicants are not happy with the quality of their high school counselors, but either way they must get the recommendations, so my suggestion, to reiterate, get one now

Rather foolish question, but: Can you get one online? I'm in China... kind of hard from here now.

You can normally find the form online, but you'll probably need to send it in the mail

I mean... not a form... can you find a COUNSELOR, online. :D I cannot go back to the states, now.

Unfortunately, yes.I couldnt apply to the schools I wanted because my counselor wouldnt write one :(

Er, I doubt you can find a counselor online........
