College Courses

Hey guys,

I'm a senior in high school now, and because my course load is pretty easy this year (it's still all AP's :p), I was thinking of signing up for Linear Algebra at my local university. The class is supposed to be fairly difficult and would take up quite a bit of my time.

I was wondering what the trade-off would be. I'm not particularly concerned about the credits transferring over to a different university, but rather, its effect on my college resume (it's also fairly expensive). Would colleges be impressed that I'm taking this course, solely because I am self motivated, or would they dismiss it as just some random activity that I'm doing because I'm bored?

Thanks in advancee~

Well i took to college courses during my junior year, and all of the admissions counselors that i have talked to have said that they look at this as a positive aspect, because it shows how willing you are to take you high school career to the next step.!

hope that helps!

Hey! I'm taking Linear Algebra this year, too. I think they will look at it positively as well.

I took Linear Algebra, too! I got an A so I hope that helps... I think it does, though.

Yeah I think you should take it....is linear algebra the same as advanced calculus?

no, it's a different area of mathematics

Thanks for your input, guys!
