There was someone that told me taking college algebra or english 100 wouldn't count as college credit even though i took it at a community college. Is this true? He said that they won't accept it cause UCLA, UC berekely, and the other UC's want students to complete all their core classes in high school. Can you guys tell me if these classes count as college credit?

Yes, you can earn credit here through community college courses.

but the guy said that only certain ones count and he said that the ones i took didn't count. There were college students in my class so i still don't know why he said that the UC's wont accept it

Uhh...since those were community college classes, I would expect there to be college students in them...

But, anyhow....it's true, only certain classes grant you credit. The best way to go about this is to talk directly to your high school counselor or, better yet, one at the CC you went to and ask them if your courses are transferable. They should have this information handy for you. (Plus, since none of us probably knows about your CC, we won't be able to tell you if your classes count or not).

assist.org will tell you if your CC classes transfer to a UC, or sometimes only to particular UCs.

k thanks guys
