college credits

hey all, i have a couple questions.
i'm new to this whole system, so please excuse my ignorance.
first of all, how many units are needed to graduate? (a normal bachelors science/arts degree)

secondly, if i am getting credits from my high school classes, can i use them as a filler to take less classes? or they're only useful if you continue the same subject, or do you just take 4 credits off your total needed to graduate...as long as you satisfy the general eds and prereqs for your major.

I dunno about a normal science/arts degree, but for the engineering school's degrees, it depends on which major you do to determine the number of required credits. It's like say Electrical Engineering needs 128 credits while Computer Engineering requires 132. (I'm making these numbers up - I don't remember off the top of my head!)

When you say credits, are you talking about APs? If so, check this thread out: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=62433 Make sure you click on the links too.

well, i take a levels, and i have 4 units for each subject i take...

Oh, ur an international student? I know what a levels are, I just don't know how USC handles them. Sorry.
