College Deadlines

I applied to a few colleges with deadlines TODAY and in 2 more days (January 3rd). I just sent my TOEFL scores. Is it too late? Does it automatically cancel my application?

Application due today: Babson
Application due in 2 more days: BU & UIUC

Dude I have the same problem man.
Applications must be postmarked by January 3. We need to receive all supporting documents (transcripts, test scores) by January 12-UIUC website.
I am yet to send my SAT scores to the University so should I rush my scores or send it by regular shipping. Someone told me that the scores can reach after the deadline also provided you have dispatched it by the deadline.
And do US universities accept rush scores cause another friend told me that they do not accept rush shipping?
Please help!

I’ve heard that as long as scores as postmarked by today, receiving them a few days late is fine. There’s a bunch of applications and files waiting to be sorted out with the start of the new year so they won’t be nit picky if it gets there a few days late.

Good luck!

P.S. I’ve also read on the CC boards that it’s not worth paying the extra $30 for rush.

Well, I’m not going to be able to send any of my transcripts until Monday even though all my deadlines are today, because post offices weren’t open yesterday, today, or tomorrow, so ■■■. Plus, one of my teachers is a complete dick and even if all he has to do is copy and paste a recommendation into the commonapp (he’s already written it), he can’t seem to do it. And I’ve reminded him every week for the past two months. I’ve just accepted the fact and figure that there’s nothing I can do about it now, so there’s no point in freaking out.

That’s the mindset =) It’ll be out of your hands soon.

Good luck

People: schools spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and send their recruiters to all corners. Every single year, around this time, there’s about a hundred freak out posts yelling the same thing: “OMG! I’m nine minutes late! Am I screwed?”

Seriously, go to the various schools fora and you’ll see what I mean. On the Yale forum which I just visited, there’s about six posts like this alone.

the deadlines are for you to get your stuff in and as a warning not toy with the colleges by stretching out 6-7 days later. It’s not as if there’s a huge shredder/bonfire/delete program for every item that goes in past the deadline. think of it. And then calm down.
