I took the SAT on October 5th. With the two weeks it takes for the test to be scored, plus the time it takes to send the scores, I'm really worried the scores won't be sent in time. A lot of my colleges have a November 1st deadline. Will they reach the college in time? If they are received a couple days over the deadline, is it ok as long as I have everything else sumbitted?

If I were you, I’d call the colleges directly. I had the same question and I asked my guidance counselor and she said to call them, so I did. I took the SAT on Oct. 5th as well and a majority of the schools (Northeastern, MCPHS, UMass Amherst) all said that they will wait to see the scores if I apply EA!

You are fine. For colleges have a November 1st deadline, SAT on November is OK too.

If you identify the colleges in your test application as ones to automatically receive scores upon release (you can identify four free sends and add others for a fee and have until October 14 to do so), then the score will be sent and received before November 1 absent a hold on your score for suspected cheating. College Board “sends” scores by placing them in an on-line account that the college has with CB and if you list the colleges in your test registration, they will be placed in those on-line accounts by no later than the day in October that scores are released to you on-line and likely even a couple days before they are released to you. If you decide to wait to order scores sent until after they are released on-line, that could take up to several days to possibly beyond Nov 1 to process because CB gets a huge number of orders right after it releases test scores in October. For most colleges that does not make any difference as they accept test scores that arrive after the Nov 1 ED or EA deadline, and many (but definitely not all as suggested above) even accept Nov test scores, but you should check with each college to see if it has a requirement that the score must arrive by Nov 1, some EA colleges (e.g., UIUC) have such a requirement and if they do, they tell you that on their sites (e.g., see UIUC’s requirement for test scores here [U of I Admissions: Freshman Application Procedures](Page Not Found, Illinois Undergraduate Admissions)) and you should identify at least those colleges in your test registration as ones to receive scores automatically upon release.
