There were some on financial assistance in high school (including mine), but there were many very wealthy kids (or very wealthy parents or grandparents). There were plenty of KIDS driving jags and Land Rovers to school. Yes, I’d say most were above middle class and paying for CU tuition wouldn’t be a problem. There were also about 40 boarding students from Asia, and they seemed to be able to pick whichever US colleges they wanted to go to too. Lots of money.
