My daughter wishes to start with biology major (but wants to experiment in technology and environmental science) - she is also active in music /arts…she is working on 4 choices:
Stevens Institute of Technology (Honors program) - Bio
George Washington - Bio
University of VT (Honors program) Rubenstein School - Env Science
Muhlenberg College - (Honors program) - Bio
Which do you feel will give her the best experience / outcomes?
A math / science kid who has been in musicals for years; sings dances.
Low key and quiet in class, extremely studious and detail oriented, good grades.
Plays one varsity sport, but not in sporty of popular crowds.
Considerate and kind - not super outgoing, though.
Not a partier.
This group of schools are all very different – a state school, a suburban LAC, a mid-size urban university, and a technical institute. She really has to decide what she wants in her college experience.
@Blackavar This is a decision that your daughter must make based on all the information she has. No one can tell you which school would be best for her. I would recommend you jump in your car and road trip it for the next 2 days to these schools. I know, for my daughter, visits to all the schools she was considering were what helped her make her decision. Muhlenberg is a small, suburban school. I can tell you that my daughter found Muhlenberg to be a warm and welcoming environment. She is in the honors program there and studies bio. She also is very studious, is on the shyer side, does not party, has found many friends and is busy, busy, busy with activities and studying. The clincher for her when making her decision where to attend was that she felt completely comfortable and welcome on her visit to Muhlenberg. She didn’t get that feeling from the other schools. Her decision came down to the wire, just like your daughter’s. It sounds like you are describing my daughter, to tell you the truth!
