hi everyone. I just scored 1870 on my SATs, but I'm hoping to improve my score when I take it a second time. I'm also taking the SAT subject tests this upcoming weekend. I have taken all honors courses, and after next year I will have taken 4 AP classes. My guidance dept does our gpa in a weird way which to be honest i do not fully understand, I have a 3.2 but they say when colleges recalculate our gpa it will go up because our courses are more difficult? I know my gpa sucks so that worries me a lot, but I'm ranked in the top 22% of my class of around 370. I've done four years of sports, I'm also on several clubs.
I've done research online about colleges but I wont be able to visit any until this summer, and I also wanted to get an honest opinion/suggestions on where i could attend. right now i'm thinking Quinnipiac, Providence College, UMASS Amherst, DePaul, and Temple with my reach schools being Arcadia, BU and Loyola Chicago. I've always wanted to live right in the city, but now I'm okay with going to a school as long as it's close, like Quinnipiac and Providence College. I've always wanted to go around New England, but I'm pretty open about the region.
I also want to major in either psychology or secondary education, and I definitely want to study abroad.
So any suggestions for different schools, my chances at these, and what I should be looking for would be great. thanks!
